Extending Quiz Time for Student's Accommodations
How to Extend Quiz Time
You may be contacted by the Disability Services on behalf of a student that needs an accommodation of extra time on quizzes. You can grant extra time on a quiz by quiz basis.
The amounts of time may vary but the most common accommodation that is granted to student is time and a half on all quizzes and tests. You would then need to go into the quiz and add the allotted time to make the total time amount to time and a half for the quiz.
For example:
- Students normally get 60 minutes to complete the quiz.
- The student with an accommodation is given time and a half to complete the quiz.
- On that student's quiz, you would add 30 minutes to make the total time allowed to be 90 minutes.
- Do not put in 90 minutes in the extra time box, as that would result in them receiving 60 minutes plus an additional 90 minutes, so 150 minutes.
